This morning I woke up around 5 a.m, had a quick shower and breakfast and was at my work place at 6.30 a.m. At that point I finally noticed I was TWO HOURS early.

So, the official Finnish premiere of "Hot Fuzz" was on last Friday. And the DVD is scheduled to be out on December 19th! Oh, Amazon, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

On the more somber note, I got a letter from the university hospital today. They want me to go there for five days for more examinations and stuff. Bah, me not likey.

And why exactly am I awake at this hour? It's 5 bloody a.m and it's my day off. Too much caffeine perhaps?

Which Cool Evil Guy Are You?

You are Mr. Teatime from Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather". You are a sociopathic assassin who would like to kill every fairytale character, including the Discworld equivalent of Santa Claus. Strangely, nobody wants to be your friend.

My little brother called all excited: he had bought the "Babylon 5 - The Complete Universe" DVD box from Huuto.net, which is a Finnish equivalent for eBay. Babylon 5, easily the best scifi series ever made. *hides from enraged Trekkers*

My brother has talked about that box for ages. Over 40 DVDs... hopefully he'll find time for his studies, too. He goes to the same university as I did (or still do, actually), but studies computer science instead of biosciences.

An interesting visit to the hospital. Still waiting for the results, but there shouldn't be anything earth shattering *knocks on wood*. I travelled there on Sunday, spent the night in the patient's dormitory and was in time (for once) for my appointment. After swallowing the capsule camera I spent almost seven hours walking around the hospital. Finally the capsule has taken enough pictures and I was able to leave. Let me tell you, seven hours feels like eternity when you are not allowed to use your mp3 player or even cell phone. Cause it disturbs may disturb the camera system.  And you can't really take a nap because every once in a while you have to check that the recording device's light is flashing.

Luckily I had a few H/S slash fics with me. ;)

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease about two years ago; after a truckload of blood tests, a bone marrow biopsy, a MRI, a gastroscopy, a colonoscopy and a wireless capsule endoscopy.

With the right kind of medication the symptoms haven't been that bad, but during the summer things started to get worse and now the stomach ache is practically continuous. I hate this stupid disease!

My doctor wants me to have another capsule endoscopy. I live in a rather small town and they don't make procedures like that here, so I have to travel to the closest university hospital (which is about 300 kilometers away). The appointment is scheduled on Monday at 7.30 am.

Yippee.

I don't understand why some people automatically assume that 'having fun' means drinking yourself into stupor and then arguing with everyone present. The next day it's easy to say "I didn't mean it, I was drunk" but it doesn't make it any less hurtful.

A few new scars to my soul.
